In compliance with the directives of the Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC), Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, the CBC Food Control Team conducted comprehensive food safety inspections in the Badar Commercial Area, Phase-V, DHA, as part of the ongoing campaign to ensure compliance with the Cantonment Pure Food Act, 1966 and CBC’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
During the inspection, the Food Control Team observed:
1. Poor hygienic conditions within several food establishments, including unclean utensils and preparation areas.
2. Expired food items found on premises, which were immediately discarded.
3. Businesses operating without valid trade licences issued by CBC.
4. Food handlers without valid medical fitness certificates, in violation of health safety requirements.
In view of these violations, fines were imposed on defaulting outlets under the provisions of the Cantonment Pure Food Act, 1966.
Furthermore, all proprietors have been directed to obtain valid trade licences and ensure medical certification of food-handling staff to continue operations.
