CBC makes exemplary Eid-ul-Azha arrangements under CEO Omar Farooq’s leadership
The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) made special arrangements for the prompt and safe disposal of sacrificial animals’ offal and to maintain cleanliness across Clifton Cantonment during Eid-ul-Azha, efforts that have been highly appreciated by residents.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of CEO CBC Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, following a comprehensive and effective strategy.
CEO CBC Mohammad Omar Farooq visited the central control room set up at the CBC office for Eid-ul-Azha and reviewed the operation. This year, an advanced digital GPS system was introduced to ensure effective monitoring of all cleanliness activities. CCTV cameras were also installed at various locations.
The CEO also visited different localities of Clifton Cantonment and the trenching site to inspect the arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the CBC staff.
To ensure a smooth cleanliness operation, more than 1,600 field staff were deployed along with around 150 vehicles and heavy machinery, including trucks, tractor-loaders, and excavators. CBC sanitary workers not only collected sacrificial animals’ offal through a door-to-door service but also sprinkled lime powder at places where animals were sacrificed and thoroughly cleaned those areas. Fumigation was also carried out across Clifton Cantonment to help prevent the spread of diseases.
As many as 17 sacrificial camps were set up at 14 locations to facilitate residents, with all necessary facilities provided.
According to CBC Public Health Officer Mohammad Farooq, Clifton Cantonment’s localities were divided into nine sectors to ensure the prompt collection of offal and maintain cleanliness during the Eid days. He said that around 1,500 to 1,800 tons of offal were collected on the first day of Eid.
