Warning to milk, meat sellers

CBC team checks hygiene conditions at Chota Bukhari, Sehar Commercial shops

Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) Food Control Team conducted separate inspections in Chota Bukhari, Phase-VI, and Sehar Commercial Area, examining cleanliness standards and the quality of food items at milk and meat shops, as well as grocery stores and restaurants.

During the inspections, the team issued warnings to several outlets over unsatisfactory hygiene conditions and violations of the Cantonment Pure Food Act 1966. Expired food items found at various premises were confiscated and discarded.

Shop owners were directed to obtain a valid CBC food trade licence and ensure that food handlers possess up-to-date medical certificates. They were also instructed to strictly implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined under the Cantonment Pure Food Act 1966.

CBC, under the leadership of CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, continues to actively enforce food safety regulations to ensure compliance with hygiene and quality standards within its jurisdiction.
