Heavy fines imposed on food outlets

Expired food items discarded during inspection in Badar Commercial

Cantonment Board Clifton’s (CBC) Food Inspection Team inspected hotels and food outlets in Badar Commercial, DHA Phase 5, to review hygiene and sanitation arrangements. During the inspection, poor cleanliness conditions were observed at several food outlets, while expired food items were also recovered and discarded on the spot.
The Food Inspection Team thoroughly examined the cleanliness of food items and utensils. Several outlets were found operating without food trade licences and medical certificates for food handlers. The owners of these outlets were directed to immediately obtain the required food trade licences and medical certificates for their food handlers.
Warnings were issued and fines were imposed on various food outlets for violations of the Cantonment Pure Food Act. The outlets were also instructed to strictly adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards.
CBC is committed to protecting the health of Clifton Cantonment residents by ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and the provision of quality food items.
