The probationary officers of the 16th Special Training Programme (ML&C), 52nd Common Training Programme (CTP), successfully concluded their Country Study Tour at the Karachi Region which took place from 12th to 16th October 2025.
The delegation during the visit to Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) was warmly received by CEO CBC, Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik and Director Karachi Region Tanveer Ashraf who extended a cordial welcome and provided the officers with an insightful briefing on the functions, structure, and operations of the Cantonment Board.
During the visit, the probationary officers were taken on a comprehensive tour of various CBC departments, where they observed the organization’s commitment to efficient urban management, public service delivery, and digital transformation initiatives.
Director Karachi Region Tanveer Ashraf also highlighted the working of Cantonment Boards to the visiting delegation and the effective measures undertaken to facilitate the residents of the cantonment areas in the most upright manner.
As part of the study tour, the officers’ delegation also held meetings with several senior government officials, including the Chief Secretary Sindh, Commissioner Karachi, Director General KWSB, Director General SBCA, Military Estate Officer Clifton, and CEO CBC. These interactions offered valuable exposure to the interdepartmental coordination and administrative frameworks that drive urban governance and development in Karachi.
The study visit provided the probationary officers with an in-depth understanding of the collaborative mechanisms among civic, regulatory, and defense-administered institutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, CEO CBC Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik presented a commemorative shield to the delegation, appreciating their enthusiasm and encouraging them to uphold professionalism and dedication in their future roles.
The Cantonment Board Clifton continues to serve as a model of progressive administration, fostering professional learning, innovation, and inter-agency cooperation within the Military Lands & Cantonments Department.
