Food Checking Drive Phase VIII: CBC cares for public health and hygiene

On the special directives of CEO CBC Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, the Food Control Team conducted a comprehensive food inspection and hygiene checking activity across various restaurants and food outlets in Tariq Commercial Area, Phase VIII on 22nd October 2025.

As part of CBC’s ongoing commitment to ensuring public health, food safety, and hygiene standards, the inspection was carried out in accordance with the Cantonment Pure Food Act, 1966 and CBC’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The following establishments were inspected during the activity:

1. M/s. Naan Shop

2. M/s. Hasan Burger

3. M/s. Defence Milk & General Store

4. M/s. Café Defence

5. M/s. Bilal Mart

6. M/s. Bread Winner

During the inspection, the CBC Food Control Team:

1. Checked hygienic conditions of food items and utensils and found poor sanitation in several premises.

2. Discarded expired food items that posed health risks to consumers.

3. Identified businesses operating without valid Food Trade Licenses and food handlers working without medical fitness certificates.

4. All defaulters were issued notices and directed to obtain valid medical certificates for food handlers and proper Food Trade Licenses from CBC.
