Cantonment Board Clifton’s (CBC) Food Control Team visited food outlets and shops in DHA Phase-II Extension to inspect hygienic conditions and to ensure compliance of rules and regulations pertaining to the safe handling of food items and cleanliness of premises.
The team issued warnings over violations of Cantonment Pure Food Act 1966 after it found poor hygienic conditions on some premises of food outlets, and also discarded expired food items. Owners of food outlets were also directed to obtain medical certificates for food handlers as well as trade licenses. The team checked food items, utensils, premises, as well as medical certificates and trade licenses at meat and vegetable shops, tea shops/cafes and food outlets during its inspection.
