Expired food items discarded during inspection of food outlets
Cantonment Board Clifton’s (CBC) Food Inspection Team during inspection of food outlets in Zamzama Commercial, DHA Phase 5, and Bukhari Commercial, DHA Phase 6, found expired food items which were discarded on the spot.
During the inspection, the team checked hygienic conditions on the premises as well as the hygiene of food items and utensils. Poor hygienic conditions were observed at multiple premises.
Some outlets were also found operating without a valid food trade license from CBC, and food handlers were working without required medical certificates.
The owners of these outlets were instructed to obtain medical certificates for all food handlers and complete the necessary licensing requirements.
The team also imposed fines on outlets and issued warnings for violations of the Cantonment Pure Food Act. All food outlets were instructed to strictly comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
CBC is actively working under the leadership of CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik to ensure that food outlets in Clifton Cantonment strictly comply with the rules and regulations and ensure quality of food items and maintain hygienic conditions on their premises.
