Rainwater promptly drained out from Clifton Cantonment’s roads
Rainwater has been drained out from Clifton Cantonment’s roads and streets due to the Cantonment Board Clifton’s (CBC) timely and effective action, and now the cleanliness work is underway.
Besides the CBC’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) staff, officers also remained present in the field the whole night and issued directives to the staff to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater from roads. Fallen trees were also quickly removed from the roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
CBC on the directives of its CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik had completed comprehensive measures ahead of the rains, which included the cleaning of stormwater drains, as well as the deployment of field staff along with de-watering pumps and other necessary machinery.
CBC’s Emergency Response Team started the drainage of water soon after the rains began on Thursday morning to prevent any hardship to the residents in their movement.
CBC’s timely and effective rain emergency measures are being appreciated by the Clifton Cantonment’s residents. Clifton Defence Community (CDC) — a major community platform — has appreciated on its community page CBC’s steps to deal with heavy rains. CDC wrote that Clifton Cantonment’s situation is far better than that of other areas of the metropolis, because CBC’s staff along with machinery remains present in the field to quickly drain out rainwater.
