CBC’s thrilling win against CBM in cricket tournament final
Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) defeated Cantonment Board Malir (CBM) by 9 runs after a thrilling contest in the final of a cricket tournament organised under the Karachi Region Sports Competition 2026.
CBC, after winning the toss, opted to bat first in the eight-over match played at Malir Cantonment Cricket Ground. Despite losing three wickets, CBC set a challenging target of 128 runs. In response, CBM faltered under pressure and fell 9 runs short of the target against disciplined CBC bowling. CBC batsman Saeed played an excellent innings and was declared Man of the Match.
Cantonment Board Faisal’s Additional CEO Zameer Hussain, who is also the focal person of the Karachi Region Sports Competition, was present at the match.
The Karachi Region Sports Competition 2026 has been organised by the Military Lands & Cantonments (ML&C) Department, in which teams from Karachi region’s cantonments are actively participating. Besides cricket, football, snooker, chess, badminton, table tennis and tug of war are also part of the tournament.
CBC is making best efforts under the leadership of CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik for the promotion of sports. For this purpose, proper maintenance of playgrounds and the provision of sports facilities to players is being ensured.
