Renovated roads enhance Defence’s beauty, delight residents and visitors
The English idiom “icing on the cake” perfectly describes Defence’s reconstructed roads, which have not only made travel easier but their ongoing renovation has also enhanced the elegance and beauty of the locality, providing a serene experience for residents and visitors alike.
Lane markings, installation of cat eyes, footpath paving, and the plantation of seasonal flowers in medians have transformed the appearance of the roads.
In the first phase, the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) undertook the reconstruction and renovation of five major roads—Khayaban-e-Bahria, Khayaban-e-Shujaat, 26 Street, Khayaban-e-Ittehad, and Commercial Avenue—under the guidance of its Chief Executive Officer, Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik.
These projects have now entered their final stages. Following the carpeting, lane marking, footpath paving, and road beautification work is progressing at an accelerated pace. The construction of highly durable, slip-resistant, and eco-friendly footpaths is being ensured, with CBC engineers and staff working round the clock to maintain high quality and meet project timelines.
The reconstruction of main roads in Clifton and Defence is expected to further improve traffic flow and provide greater convenience for both motorists and pedestrians. CBC’s efforts in road development have been highly appreciated by aresidents.
