CBC implements comprehensive plan for desilting sewerage lines
Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has started implementing a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of its sewerage system. In the first phase, the main sewer lines in DHA Phases 5 and 6 will be cleaned and de-silted using specialised machinery.
The initiative will not only improve the flow of wastewater through the sewerage network but also help save millions of rupees. A modern de-silting system is being used to restore the capacity of existing serviceable sewer lines, eliminating the need for unnecessary replacement. This will help protect road infrastructure and minimise inconvenience to residents.
In addition to the de-silting of sewer lines, disposal wells will also be de-silted to increase their capacity, reduce complaints of sewage overflows and further improve cleanliness in the area.
All these measures are being undertaken on the directives of CBC CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik.
CBC’s Emergency Response Teams, under the supervision of their respective supervisors, are working round the clock to carry out the de-silting of sewerage lines.
