CBC actively engaged in maintaining cleanliness, facilities around Imambargahs, Majalis venues
Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) is actively engaged in ensuring the provision of civic facilities around imambargahs, majlis venues and mourning procession routes so that mourners do not face any inconvenience.
For this purpose, CBC is undertaking repair of roads, installation of paver blocks, maintenance and upgrading of street lights, provision of additional lighting, supply of drinking water and improvements to the drainage system around Imambargahs, Majlis venues and mourning procession routes.
CBC’s Emergency Response Teams and other departments, under the directions of CEO Mohammad Omar Farooq Ali Malik, remain actively engaged around the clock during Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure the uninterrupted provision of all municipal services, including sanitation and cleanliness.
Water supply is also being maintained through water tankers where required. In addition, a fumigation campaign has been launched to protect mourners from malaria, dengue and other diseases. Special arrangements are also being made for tree trimming and cleanliness along procession routes and at Majlis sites.
For the facilitation of participants in the 9th and 10th of Muharram mourning processions, CBC is also setting up water sabeels and arranging the distribution of food packets.
